Bread and butter pudding

This is a dish that is part of the traditional Czech cuisine and is often served in school cafeterias or canteens canteen. In Czech it is known under the name “žemlovka”. It’s a sweet pudding, which is made from apples and white bread (usually rolls or ever), soaked in sweetened milk or eggs.

  • 10 pieces of rolls
  • 1/3 liter of milk
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 4 large grated jabalka
  • 50 g raisins, cottage cheese (not necessarily)
  • cinnamon sugar
  • breadcrumbs
  • fat

Preparation process:

Rolls cut into slices, moistened with milk, in which we mixed up egg yolks and sugar. Grease a fireproof bowl, sprinkle with breadcrumbs and lay with a layer of moistened wafers of rolls. Put grated apple mixed with raisinson them, cottage cheese and another layer of rolls. Repeat this procedure and as a last layer put the rolls. Surface sprinkle with fat and bake 45 minutes at 160 ° C.
