God’s grace
God’s grace (in Czech boží milosti) is traditional Easter sweets of grandmothers and great-grandmothers. It is an excellent delicate sweetness, for that hard to find a comparison. Perhaps in Spain they are similar in taste churros, prepared with puff pastry and fried in oil. God’s grace is an excellent fry immediately after the second day.
for 4 person, preparation time 1 hour
Ingredients:
- 250 g plain flour
- pinch of salt
- 50 g butter
- 50 g sugar grit
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 tablespoons white wine
- 5 tablespoons sour cream
- teaspoon lemon peel
- oil for frying
- icing and vanilla sugar to coat
Preparation process:
Mix the flour on roller board with all the ingredients and the softened butter, prepare the dough, which we leave in the fridge for half an hour. Roll out the dough to about 4 mm thick pancake and carve rectangular (about 8 x 5 cm) or other shapes that twice cut into. Fry in abundant hot oil briefly, just pink. During frying the God’s grace should inflate. If it fails, cover them with a lid for a while. Still warm Graces cover in icing sugar mixed with vanilla. Beware – God’s grace is very fragile, must be handled carefully not to break them.
